What final measures did Chris take to prepare for his journey before going into the Alaskan wilderness? 1-2 sentences.

What are some of the personal philosophies that Chris uncovered through his reading and experiences in the wilderness? List at least 5-6.

  1. Chris' final measures were easy. Chris wrote letters to everyone he cared about, he bought a plant book about edible barries, and bought a gun as well as rice, and then he embarked on his voyage.

    1) Happiness can come from human relationships
    2) peace and beauty is found in nature
    3) when death comes people feel lonely
    4) we should appreciate and keep nature pure
    5) death is fierce like a crazy animal

  2. Chris' final measures before his journey was he wrote letters to everyone he met and loved. Wemt and obtained a plant book to know what to get and bought rice and a gun.

  4. Final measure that Chris took before going on his journey he wrote letters to all of the people he cared about. He also had a book on him and he obtained rice and a gun.

  5. During the last days of Chris' preparation, he gathered the few things that he felt he needed. First, Stuckey had bought Chris a big bag of rice, Chris then went to a library and picked up a book called Tanaina Plantlore/Dena'ina K'et'una: An Ethnobotany of the Dena'ina Indians of Southcentral Alaska by Priscilla Russell Kari, and finally purchased a semiautomatic .22-caliber Remington with a 4-x-20 scope and a plastic stock (page 158-161).

    Some personal philosophies that Chris uncovered during his journey are 1. winter, not summer, is the preferred season for traveling overland through the bush. 2. learn to accept your errors no matter how great they may be. 3. circumstance has no value. it is how one relates to a situation that has value. 4. The Great Holiness of FOOD, the Vital Heat. 5. Positivism, the Insurpassable Joy of the Life Aesthetic. 6. Absolute Truth and Honesty. 7.Independence. 8. Finality-Stability-Consistancy. 9. The only way to be truly happy is to live for someone else, like a mate and children.

  6. During Chris' last days before his Great alaskan odyssey, he wrote letters to all of his good friends and family. he then purchased items that would be usefull to him on his adventure such as an edible plants book, a large bag of rice, and a small caliber hunting rifle.

    1. natures beauty should be savored and never tarnished.
    2. We must accept failures and use them to improve for next time.
    3. independence is true freedom
    4. Dying brings a very lonely feeling
    5. happiness is only real when it is shared with someone else

  7. Chris wrote to his friends, family, and those he met on his journey. He also bought a hunting rifle, and edible plant book, and a bag of rice.
    1. Happiness is only present when shared
    2. Take the time to observe everything life has, don't rush
    3. One must look beyond the life present to them

    5. Death is loneliness
    6. Nature is not to be corrupted

  8. before chris left he sent letter to everyone that meant something to him, bought a book about what plants were edible as well as berries and wild life. also he bought a .22 caliber rifle as well as some rice along with other supplies

  9. Chris sent out letters to everyone he cared for, burnt some money and then gave the rest to charity. He packed a gun, two pounds of rice, and a book of wild berries to be found in the wilderness.

  10. Before Chris left he wrote letters to those he cared about. He also bought a book about plants and berries so that when he went out into the wild he would know what he is eating. He also bought a gun for himself.
    1. He found that happiness is only true when it is shared.
    2. He found peace is found only in nature.
    3. He found death is similar to a fierce animal.
    4. He found death causes lonliness
    5. He said that we should leave nature as it is and we should learn to appreciate it
