  1. No, Stuckey should not have called Chris's parents. Chris didn't want his parents to know where he was and it wasn't Stuckey's place to intrude in that. If Chris wanted Stuckey to call his parents he would have left the pnone number. Teh outcome would not have been changed if Stuckey had called his parents. This is because "the good die young." Chris would not have let anyone take him home because he was stuck on finishing the adventure. Chris would have just moved deeper into the wilderness if he knew that people were looking for him. This would have made it all worse and Chris' chance of dieing would have been exponentially greatened.

  2. Yes, Stuckey should have called and informed Chris' parents when he had the chance. Yes the outcome would have been different if stuckey has called his parents. Chris' parents would have been worried about him and his saftey. They would have sent out police to get him and he would still be alive today. Chris would have been taken home safely but he would have made a struggle because he didn't want to come home. Chris would have completely protested to come home. I belive they would have over powered Chris and brought him home and he could have gone on a nature adventure in a much safer location. Mark D

  3. I do not believe that Stuckey should have called Chris's parents. Stuckey knew that Chris did not want his parents to know what he was doing, and Stuckey should not call them. If Chris knew that his parents were coming for him, he would have tried to get further away from them. This would mean that he has the chance to be in even more danger from the elements and wilderness.

  4. Yes I think that Stuckey should have told Chris's parent when he had the chance. I feel that the outcome of Chris's life would be very different if he parents knew where he was. They would have gotten the authorities involved and saved his life. I feel like it he wouldnt have wanted to come home at first but than he would realize that it was best for him. He would see his sister Carine when he got home and never for sure it was the right desicion to go home.

  5. I believe that even knowing it would have helped Chris' family with their worry, it was not Stuckey's place to call Chris' parents. Stuckey was just one of the few people that Chris met on his journey, maybe someone who had a little more relevance than others, but not family, not someone who had the authority to go against Chris' free choice to live out in the wild. Chris was an adult when he made the decision, Chris was an adult when he started his journey, Chris was old enough to decide whether or not he wanted to keep in contact with his family or not. Evening knowing one choice might be better than the other, it was Chris' choice, no ones else's and no one else knew Chris' relationship truly with his parents besides Chris. If Stuckey had called Chris' parents, I think it might have just been another obstacle in Chris' journey, it could have been just another reason for him to revolt against his parents. Obviously, if he left without contacting his parents, nothing could change his mind now, especially with them trying to force him to come home. I do not think that Chris would have came home. His parents could not force him because that would be kidnapping. Chris was old enough to decide where he was going to live and what he was going to do with his life, whether his parents liked it or not. I think what would have happened would be just a farther distance between Chris and his parents if that was possible.

  6. Stuckey definitely shouldn't have called Chris' parents. It was in no way his place to go against Chris' wishes. Sure Chris might not have died and could have possibly been saved if the authorities were notified, but it also could have been the exact opposite and Chris could have done something reckless if he found out. this could put him in even more danger than before.

  7. I dont believe that Stuckey should have called Chris's parents because Chris didnt want his parents knowing where he was or where he had been. Also who is Stuckey where he can just butt into someone else's life. If chris knew that his parents were coming after him he would have put himself into more trouble by trying to get away faster then before, not thinking what he was doing just running. I dont think the outcome would have changed at all. Chris was a kid that put his mind to something and it was done, he was going to have things his own way and after all the hard work and traveling and time spent on his travel would would not have just got in a car, especially with his parents, and just turned around and went home.

  8. I believe that Stuckey should have called Chris's parents. It is the responsible and morally correct thing to do, as it is protecting a human life. That, being said, also mean that Chris still has the right to not come home. i am in no way saying Chris has to give up his journey and Stuckey would force the decision on him. I simply see it as the right thing to do. This is however an idealistic view of what should happen. Had Stuckey called his parents this most likely would have happened as I described.

  9. I don’t believe that Stuckey should have called Chris’ parents when he had the chance. Yes, that’s the more responsible thing to do, seeing as if he did call Chris’ parents, Chris would most likely be alive today, but it wasn’t his place to intrude. It was good that he respected Chris’ decisions not to contact anyone or let anyone know where he was or what he was doing. Chris had a rite to make that decision and he trusted Stuckey with that. Things would have been much different if Stuckey told someone though because his parents probably would have sent someone out to find him and bring him home. Chris most likely would have protested but I doubt his parents would have just left it alone. If he refused to come home they would have at least given him more supplies so he could have survived.
